It is beautiful to see all of the posts about what we are grateful for during this holiday season. But, maybe we should consider being grateful in every season. Not only does it make you feel good; it is actually good for your health! Really! Many researchers have found that exercises like saying prayers before dinner, writing in a gratitude journal and daily giving of thanks can lower depression, stress and health complaints. Neuroscientists are finding that the brain has the capacity to develop, change and adapt throughout our lives. By practicing gratitude, we are in essence training our brain to feel good. As parents, it is a great gift to teach our kids to practice gratitude not just on Thanksgiving but on every day. In my home, we have a gratitude journal on the kitchen table. We regularly write in it and have set a challenge to never say the same thing twice. My son is often thankful for things like his purple shirt or that there's no school. My daughter will say she's thankful for her Grandma and Ba Ba or her teacher. Most importantly, we are taking a pause to realize all that is a blessing in our life.
At Stroller Strides, we are thankful for each one of you! We are thankful for our franchisees, our instructors and our moms who join our programs. We are thankful for the babies, toddler and children who are growing up in our lives. We are thankful for you helping to give women the "Strength for Motherhood". We are thankful to love our work and to do work that we love. We wish each and everyone of you a happy and healthy holiday with your family. With an abundance of thanks,
Lisa Druxman
